Getting Start of Kanchanaburi Trip
We
leave from Nakornprathom province at 08.00. The passenger was gathering at
Silapakorn university.
Tongmuan
, Tongtad and Tong at Tongmuan Srinaul, the first tongmuan shop in
Kanchanaburi. This family business start from their mother and has passed the
business to her daughter. From years, that they has been devote her recipe to
suite customer taste. They use local material such as tapioca flour, coconut
milk and sugar as main ingredient.

Making
Tongmuan and thong pub require skill, when you roll the cooked flour, it need
to be quick otherwise it will not be in the shape you like. Certainly, it is
real hot when tongmuan is ready to roll.

product is easy to access around Thailand. It is famous snack for the Thai. The
Japanese is also like this snack. It is one of export products.

Then,
we continue to visit Chamchuri Yak Tree ( Rain forest three) which is 26 meter
high. It is amazing with its shape and get cool pictures and there are 8 people
go around the truck of the tree with holding one another hand.

Mulberry
tea
We
visited Mulberry tea factory. All of us got cold sweet mulberry tea as welcome
drink. The drink was delicious than the green tea bottom in the market. Then we
got the listen to the story of how the factory establish. Khun Khanchana , the
owner, has run business for 13 years. She started from scratch.
Now,
they become success and help the local to have a job and grow the mulberry tree.
This is one of big factory which certify organic. It was a petty that we can
not visit the farm since the tree was already harvest. We wish we can walk to
see the farm.

Then,
we board on raft restaurant for having lunch and enjoy scenic of River Kwai and
mountain surrounding. This is one of highlight with great scenic lunch and good
talk.

Kachanaburi food tour – Kopi Civet

After embark the cruise. Continue to Tong papoom and on the way stop at Coffee
shop Baan Khun Ying, The specialty of this is selling กาแฟขี้ชะมด" หรือ Kopi Luwak โคปิ ลูแว็ค” . The coffee
seeds is selected by Asia Palm Civet. This is one of the most expensive Robusta
coffee which originated from Indonesia. One cup of coffee start at 500 THB or
18 USD . So I am not coffee fan, I can not tell how good it is.

Kanchanaburi
– Tongpapoom Tour

We arrive at small village, Baan Huay Kayeang which has Karen, Burmese and Mon
live. It is 30 Kgm away from Burmese border. The small road go and twist along
great view mountain and reservoir before
we access the village. The head of
village come to welcome us and the house owner show us how to make Tong Yoa.
This snack has steam sticky rice, sesame and salt as main ingredient. It we
mixed by traditional pestle and mortar which use our foot. After all ingredient
mixed well. It need to dry up before cut to big pieces and fried. Eat with
condense milk it is creamy and sweat. The unique thing is see how it make and taste it after cook, make
this is so special.

Great
Dinner along the river at Tongpaphoom
After
leave the village we continue to resort which is 30 minute ride and the hard
rain come so we decided to have dinner at Crupeadriew. The restaurant is
located along the river. The food is superb.
Good room , very big room and nice amenity.
